The NZSM Concerto Competition is an annual event which sees some of our most talented students compete for the chance to perform a full concerto with the NZSM Orchestra later in the year.

Our finalists for 2020 are:
Isabella Gregory (flute): Carl Reinecke—Flute Concerto
Lucas Baker (violin): Barber—Violin Concerto
Otis Prescott-Mason (piano): Saint-Saëns—Piano Concerto No. 2

This year our adjudicators are conductor Vincent Hardaker, NZSM alumnus and first Assistant Conductor in Residence for the group of professional orchestras of New Zealand, and Catherine Gibson, Chamber Music New Zealand's Chief Executive.

The pianist for the competition is David Barnard, Head of Accompanying and Vocal Coaching at NZSM.
