NZSM is delighted to have Jenny Wollerman and Michael Houstoun perform at this special lunchtime concert. Michael Houstoun is due to retire in the next year, so we are very honoured to have the chance to hear him perform in the Adam Concert Room before he does so. This one will be popular, so make sure to turn up early if you want to ensure a seat!

Jenny tells us about what's in store here:

“Michael Houstoun and I have performed a number of song recital concerts since our first one in 2013 based on the theme of 'Light' which we developed as a semi-staged concert for the Wanaka Festival and Christchurch Festival. We subsequently recorded a version of this for Rattle Records which was released on CD as 'Between Darkness and Light'. This recording has been featured on the Air New Zealand inflight entertainment for the past few years in the classical music section.

We would like to bring a selection of the songs we have performed on the CD and in the various recitals we have done since to NZSM - Te Kōkī as an opportunity to share the music with the student body and supporters. The programme consists of songs in French, English and Russian, by composers including Fauré, Debussy, Britten and Rachmaninoff, along with some short piano solos performed by Michael."
