Dr Robyn Andrews

Dr Robyn Andrews is a lecturer in social anthropology at Massey University, focusing on ageing, migration, citizenship, identity, and religion.

Robyn Andrews is a lecturer in Social Anthropology at Massey University. She completed her PhD in 2005 based on ethnographic research with Kolkata’s Anglo-Indian community.

She continues her research involvement with Anglo-Indians in India and the diaspora. Her research focus and publications include her work on ageing (including rest home experiences in India and Australia), migration, diaspora, citizenship, identity, religion and pilgrimage. She employs ethnographic and narrative research, life story collection, as well as, more recently, the use of surveys.

Amongst her publications are Christmas in Calcutta: Anglo-Indian Stories and Essays (2014), and she co-edits the International Journal of Anglo-Indian Studies.
