Victoria University of Wellington has a database of scholarships available for all students. The database allows you to search for scholarships specifically targeted to Māori students.

The database covers a wide range of community grants, awards, and scholarships including many iwi scholarships.

Māori Education Trust

The Māori Education Trust have significant scholarships for Māori students in a range of disciplines.

Te Pūtea Whakatupu Trust

The purpose of Te Pūtea Whakatupu Trust is to hold and manage the trust funds on trust for and on behalf of the beneficiaries under the Deed of Settlement, in order to promote education, training, and research, including matters that relate to fisheries, fishing, and fisheries-related activities, but not in a manner that could adversely affect the charitable status (if any) of the Trust.

Iwi scholarships

Many iwi have scholarships and grants available—contact your iwi rūnanga or organisation, and make sure you’re registered. Your genealogy is usually required to be verified by a kaumātua, so it's best to get advice from your iwi on how to do this.

TeachNZ

TeachNZ have many great scholarships for training teachers. There are special opportunities for Māori and Pasifika teachers, or those interested in teaching te reo, or in a Māori medium school.
