Request an item during Alert Level 2

Request a physical item from any of our collections. You can collect it from the Library, have it couriered outside Wellington or have a chapter emailed to you.

While we are in Alert Level 2 of the Covid-19 pandemic, you are able to request items from all of our Libraries to help with your individual study and research needs.  We will be offering this service Monday to Friday

You can collect the requested items from from the Library where the book comes from (Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm), we can courier the items to you at your home if you live outside of Wellington, or have chapters of books scanned and emailed to you

We aim to process you requests within 2 business days, however it may take slightly longer during periods of increased demand

How to request an item for Click and Collect

1.  Look up the item you wish to request in Te Waharoa.  If you aren't already make sure you are signed in

2.  Make sure the item is showing as "Available"

3.  Open the record by selecting the title of the item

4.  Select the "Request" button in the Get it section

5.  For "Pickup Location" choose which campus library you would like to collect the item from

6.  Click on "Send request"

Once the request has been processed

Once your books are ready for you to collect , we will send an email to the email address listed on your Library account

  • Please note that Library hours are currently 10am - 5pm Monday to Saturday

How to request an item for Click and Courier

Please note that this service is only for those currently living outside of Wellington

Send an email to

The key details to include are:

  • Your name
  • Your ID number
  • Your postal address including post code

and then the details of the item you would like:

  • Title
  • Author
  • Call number
  • Edition (if applicable)

Request a chapter from a book

If you would like a chapter of a book emailed to you, please include the chapter title/ page numbers in addition to the above information.

Provision of material will be supplied in accordance with the Copyright Act 1994.

Once the request has been processed

Once your request(s) have been processed, they will appear under “My Loans” in your Library account.

If you are collecting your books you will receive an email when they are available to pick up. The pick up location will be the Library you have selected.  Libraries are open 10am -5pm Monday - Saturday

Note: There are delays with courier companies delivering packages.
