How do I apply for the test?

How much does it cost to sit the test?

The test fee is 385 NZD.

Where is the test held?

The IELTS test is held at Victoria University of Wellington, Kelburn Campus. Upcoming test dates can be found in our test dates section.

How long does the test take?

How do I cancel my application? Can I get a refund?

I have a disability or other impairment. Can the test be altered to suit my needs?

When will I get my results?

Results are released 13 days after the test date. You can either have your results posted to you, or you can collect them from our office. Please remember to bring your passport (or acceptable photo ID) if you come to collect your results.

Can someone else collect my results on my behalf?

If you are unable to collect your TRF, you can nominate someone to collect it on your behalf. For information on third-party collection of results, please see our results section.

Can I have my IELTS results re-marked?

How do I get additional copies of my Test Report Form?

What if I don't have my passport?

You can apply for the test using a photocopy of your passport, however you must have your original passport for the test day. No passport, no test (certified copies are not accepted). If your passport is with Immigration, many candidates are able to borrow back their passport for the test day. You can find more information in our test information section.

If you do not have your passport you will need to provide an acceptable form of photo ID (NZ Driver's Licence, Student ID Card, Kiwi Access Card) when collecting your results.
