Remojo Tech is a social enterprise, founded in 2020 under the Young Enterprise Trust, which exists to create a sustainable solution to the problem of e-waste and digital inequity in Aotearoa.

Founders Hadi Doaud and Owyn Aitken, currently travel across Aotearoa and provide training workshops to high school age students — teaching them about computers and laptop repair.

Daniella Gibson, our Marketing Director, drives the social media and marketing of Remojo Tech. She is only female member of the team and has been with Remojo Tech since it was established under the Young Enterprise Trust (YES). She also works for Recycle-A-Device as the Social Media and Communications specialist under Digital Future Aotearoa. Daniella competed in the YES Regional competition alongside Owyn and Hadi, which landed Remojo Tech in first place. Remojo Tech were placed runner-up nationwide at the 2020 YES Nationals competition.

Following these workshops, participating students receive ex-lease devices donated by corporates which they then refurbish and distribute to students in their community. Remojo Tech is one of the founders of Recycle-A-Device, a partnership co-chaired by Owyn, which is at the forefront of digital equity in Aotearoa.

Working together with other charities and oranisations, Remojo Tech is able to source devices and reach out to schools who look to take part in their workshops. The business continues to expand, and as of today employs ten trainers spread across Aotearoa who assist in delivering workshops.

“Remojo Tech’s impact is three-fold” states Director, Hadi Daoud “We exist to reduce e-waste, increase access to digital devices, and most importantly provide young people with opportunities in the tech sector.”
