China University of Political Science and Law students visit
The Political Science and International Relations Programme recently hosted students and staff from the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL).
Seventeen students and two Professors from China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) recently attended the three week Political Science and International Relations Programme's CUPL Summer Course at Victoria This course is specially designed for CUPL students. It introduces the general subjects of political science, international relations, law and public administration as taught at Victoria University and introduces students to the New Zealand system of governance. The course consists of morning lectures on a variety of New Zealand-related topics, followed by afternoon site visits to subject related places such as Parliament, Te Papa, government ministries, courts and the Chinese Embassy in the afternoons. Students are also given an insight into New Zealand culture attending a Pohiri at the Marae, and a screening of Hunt for the Wilderpeople.
