    Cannabis reform excites intense debate across society, and with New Zealand’s referendum on the legalisation of recreational cannabis just around the corner, Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has prepared a podcast delving into the topic.

    NZSM to sponsor chamber music contest

    The University and the New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī (NZSM) have partnered with Chamber Music New Zealand (CMNZ) to sponsor the New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) Chamber Music contest. This competition for secondary school students is the largest and oldest music contest in New Zealand and showcases young talent from around the country.

  • 'The Luminaries' TV series an all-NZSM musical affair

    The new TV adapation of Eleanor Catton's Booker Prize-winning novel The Luminaries screened on TVNZ One on Sunday 17 May.  The epic soundtrack to the series was created almost entirely by staff and alumni of the New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī (NZSM).

    50 years of Theatre

    The Theatre programme is celebrating 50 years since its inception as Drama Studies at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington in 1970. As part of the celebrations, the programme staff invited founding professor Phil Mann to tour the facilities and join them to discuss the creation, history, and evolution of the programme.

    HOLE, a play by Lynda Chanwai-Earle, opens at Circa Theatre on 22 September with a host of Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington connections.

    Adam Art Gallery’s new intern announced

    Art History alumna Millie Riddell has started her six-month stint as the latest Adam Art Gallery Intern at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. She has a BA Honours degree in Art History from the University and has just completed an MA at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.
