What are the features of written assignments and reading texts assigned in courses across disciplines?

The two presenters both conducted needs analysis research on undergraduate writing and reading requirements in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law, and Wellington Business School at the University. Questionnaire and interview data were collected from academic staff and analysed to find the most prevalent trends. Understanding such requirements may inform academic preparation for university and academic support, in addition to enhancing academic staff understanding of students’ experiences across the curriculum. The presenters will share insights achieved through these two needs analysis studies.
