Fundraising video launched to support Centre for Women’s Health Research

Saving lives is at the very heart of the work done by the team at the Centre for Women’s Health Research (CWHR). Led by the indomitable Dr Beverly Lawton, the team are working to improve equity in health outcomes for women, children, and whanau.

On Friday 2 October 2020 the team from the Centre held a small gathering to launch a new fundraising initiative to support their life-saving work.

The event was attended by Chair of the CWHR Ambassadors, David Mace; CWHR volunteer and Chair of the Advisory Board, Deirdre Tarrant; and kaumatua Charles Lambert and Matthew Bennett (Ngāti Pāhuwera) and Wendy Dallas Katoa (Kāti Mamoe/Waitaha), who are working closely with the centre and local iwi in Hawkes Bay and the South Island respectively; and a select group of health professionals as well as CWHR staff.

Hosted in the Council Chamber of the Hunter Building and live streamed to guests unable to visit Wellington, Dr Beverly Lawson presented on the work of the centre before the video was screened.
