Current BA (Education) Student
“Education as a background framework with a view to postgraduate study in teaching was a natural choice for me to make”
Michelle is a mother of four, who dreamed of returning to study once her boys grew up. An enthusiastic voluntary community worker, with a particular interest in coaching, mentoring and empowering children and adults, Michelle knew that a BA in Education was the right choice for her.
Michelle threw herself into everything the University offered becoming a note taker for disability services, conversation buddy for the English Language Training for Officials programme, campus coach, class representative, and mentor with Āwhina.
“The University has incredible resources, which make university research and learning an incredibly friendly, fulfilling and positive experience.”
Michelle hopes to continue her studies in 2015 by completing the Faculty’s new postgraduate teacher education qualification, the Master of Teaching and Learning*.
*The Master of Teaching and Learning (Primary/Secondary) will be offered from 2015 subject to approval.
