Matthew McCrudden

Matthew T. McCrudden is an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at Pennsylvania State University in the USA. He has a Ph.D. in learning and technology and an M.A. in cognition, learning, and development. He has also taught at the University of North Florida (2005-08) and Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand (2008-2018).

He teaches courses in educational psychology and research methods. He has published numerous articles and books in the area of human learning. His most recent book is Cognition in Education. His research interests include how characteristics of instructional tasks, learners, and instructional materials are related to cognition and learning. Currently, he serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Educational Psychology and is on several other editorial boards.
