Core tools and services
We provide core tools and services like email and Wi-Fi, data storage, hardware and software support, printing, training, and procurement.
These core IT services are available to individual staff, schools, and central service units at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
The services are enabled on the creation of a staff user account or through a request to the Digital Solutions Service Desk. Delivery of services is outlined in the core services Service Level Agreement (SLA).
Account management
Access to University systems is initiated by School or Central Service Unit administrators and provisioned by the Trident identity management system.
Advice and guidance
Our teams can provide advice, guidance and information for any teaching, learning, research and digital workplace needs.
Teaching, learning and meeting environments
Digital Solutions produce tailored environments to suit any business need or pedagogy, and ongoing support for hardware, software and specialist equipment.
Use Outlook and Office365 to send and receive emails, organise appointments and manage day to day tasks.
File and data storage
Find out about storage solutions for short and long term preservation of University files, data and media.
Hardware support
The Digital Solutions Client Technology Services team provide support, management, implementation, and installation of University’s computers and applications.
Image Services
Image Services provide photographic, video and multimedia services to enhance teaching and learning and for University promotional and engagement activities.
Wireless networks and internet
Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington provides three wireless networks to suit three different user groups and are available across all campuses.
IT Procurement
We manage purchasing for desktop computers, laptops, software and mobile connections.
Mobile connections
Digital Solutions administer telephone and mobile communication services for University staff and external suppliers.
Network services
We manage fast and secure network connectivity through fixed portal, staff and student wireless and guest wireless.
Office365
The Office 365 suite of web-based applications gives you access to cloud storage, social networking, office productivity tools, and more.
Printing
All staff computers connected to the University network can connect to a multi-function device (MFD) to print, scan, collate and photocopy documents.
Remote access
University staff can use any internet connected device to securely access services including email, file storage, and core applications.
Software
Digital Solutions provide software packages for productivity, teaching, learning and research, and can assist with software purchasing and license management.
Training
Digital Solutions and the Centre for Academic Development (CAD) offer training and assistance to help you get the best out of the University’s technology.
Video and voice conferencing
Digital Solutions provides video and voice conferencing to support specific communication and collaboration needs.
