Patent filings relating to software, apps and artificial intelligence have risen dramatically over the past decade as companies and universities rush to protect their intellectual property.  However, the laws governing what can be patented in these technology areas differ in each country and are in a state of flux.

This seminar - suitable for people with no knowledge of commercialisation, but still valuable to those with more experience - will highlight patent filing trends/statistics and, with reference to case studies, explore what can be patented in New Zealand, Australia, Europe and the United States.
