Labour, Employment, and Work conference

Labour, Employment, and Work (LEW) Conference

Due to the uncertainty around travel and the structure of events in the Covid 19 pandemic the 2020 Conference was cancelled and the decision was subsequently made to hold the next conference in November 2022 and to hold a Labour, Employment and Work Symposium on 24 November 2021.

We have also made the decision that the symposium will be in-person at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Our call for Expressions of Interest in presenting a paper and/or workshop or focused session was well supported and we have now requested those submitters to submit a paper abstract and/or a workshop description. Submitters come from a broad range of organisations including unions, government ministries and departments, and academic institutions in New Zealand and Australia. Topics include labour market trends; work and income; workplace health and wellbeing; the impact of COVID-19 on work and workplaces; technology and future work; and labour law.  The range of topics will fall under the theme: Labour, Employment and Work – Current issues and Research.

If you did not submit an expression of interest but are interested in presenting a paper or organising a workshop/focused session, or you would like to be included in our distribution database for more information on the symposium and/or 2022 LEW Conference contact Sue Ryall, Centre Manager, CLEW -

The conference and symposium is organised by CLEW at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Further information is available on the conference website.
