Confucius Institute Wellington Director Adele Bryant thanked judges, teachers and the talented students for participating in an online competition for a second year in a row.  Bryant said "we welcome beginner and advanced speakers to join in the competition for both fun and to test their level of fluency. Post-COVID we hope to be back in action with a more sociable and interactive format to attract more students”.

The ten eligible speakers highlighted can continue onto the online national competition to be hosted by the Confucius Institute at the University of Canterbury on 8 August.

The tertiary competition will run over Zoom on 14 July and entries from tertiary students living in the Wellington region (including from Tauranga south) are welcome. The winner can continue onto the international competition with the opportunity to win scholarships to study in China. 加油  jiā yóu!
