Students of Samuel Marsden Collegiate were given the opportunity to participate in an interactive Discover China! Workshop, focusing on Martial Arts. Sponsored by the Confucius Institute at VUW, this mini Chinese cultural day aims to promote and increase understanding of Chinese culture by offering a number of custom-made workshops according to the specific needs of the host school. Martial Arts teacher Meng Fanxiao (who is also planning on organising a CI Kong Fu class), gave an introduction to Martial Arts techniques and the specific skills required to practise this traditional Chinese sport.
