The Confucius Institute at VUW organised Youth Chinese Tests for secondary and intermediate students of the Chinese Department at Rotorua Boys' High School. 57 students registered for the test which was coordinated by Chinese language teacher Yaru Liu (CI at VUW) and Wendy Chen (Chinese Department Rotorua Boys' High School). The YCT are China's official and standarised tests to assess the Chinese proficiency of secondary and intermediate students.
